Practicum in Belly Dancing

is a class taught by Julie Johnson, an experienced performer and choreographer, whose et Alia troupe has been headquartered in Socorro for over 20 years.

Julie took her first belly dance class in 1977 from Jerusha Ara of Palm Desert California. In the years to follow she took classes and seminars from Bert Ballentine, Amaya, Libby Prothello, Maureen Newsome, Azziz, Morocco, Teri Hardon and many others.

In 1978 she joined the Et Alia Dance Troupe. Over the years she has choreographed and directed the troupe and continues to contribute to the troupe performances. Julie is a long time Socorro resident and continues to perform for friends as she finds the time.
